My #FromWhereIStand lately – with a big mug of tea in my hand, wearing the most coziest Shepherd slippers ever and covered in warm soft knits. Bliss…
After talking about not wanting to wear winter coats in my last post, only 2 days later and it all hit me – it’s arctic!
I grew up in the Baltic States myself, but either I’m a whimp or it’s really arctic, but baltic is not the word for this kind of stormy, rainy, wet miserable weather outside… Am I going through some kinds of Winter Blues? I’m not even a big tea drinker but have been downing big mugs of earl grey tea for the last few days as well, but really loving it all… and feeling grateful…
So here’s a glimpse of a girl working from home on a cold and rainy day, and I emphasise girl, because I doubt boys do any of the things I do, or at least admit to be doing. Read on…
Rain…
Working from home when it’s so rainy outside is the best thing in the world! Putting my feet up on the window ledge whilst talking on the phone to my clients and swinging on the chair is the second, unless it’s a skype call of course (I’m sure they don’t read this, Ha!). With so many bugs and colds going about at this time of year, it’s almost guaranteed that every parent will get a phone call from their child’s school asking them to pick their poor sick kid up and take them home. It used to break my heart when I had to send my little girl back to school the next day, still sick because I had to go to work, but all I have to do now is swap my slippers for some shoes, jump in the car and drive to the rescue. But we’re pretty wrapped up for school those days, so colds should stay away… Shoo…
Hot Water bottles…
Mine acts as back support when it’s not cold and a hot back support, sometimes a foot warmer (just put it on the floor) when it’s arctic! Don’t get me wrong, it’s pretty warm in my home, but I am Russian remember, so a little bit of chill and I’m reaching out for furs, knits and crank up that heating – I bet even my neighbours feel it. I think it’s all that bare foot action in my yoga classes first thing in the morning that makes me want to wear and walk on sheepskin all day after practice.
Big cups of tea, cozy slippers, knits and nice quietly played music – something’s missing! Ah, candle scents…
I don’t know how many candles I’ve already burnt since it started to get dark at like 2pm, but some of my favourites so far are by Timeless Candles, Hotel Chocolat (who knew they did candles) and this Cereria Molla delight – don’t want to waste it all too quickly because it smells just divine!
So what is it that I do you may wonder? I’ve talked about it a few times, but just incase you don’t remember – I blog of course, but I also manage Social Media accounts for some organisations, do a bit of PR, Market Research and Digital Marketing for others. Most of it can be done at home or from a cafe if I like, but I often I go out to work-related meetings, take imagery of the products, samples and so on, but the fun thing about it is that I get to learn so much about various industries, so it’s not all fashion in my day-to-day life! Well, in my head it is, but anyway…
I often write blog articles for my clients, but I sometimes Guest Blog as well, feel free to check out my recent guest post for ULTIMO Lingerie – a piece on “The Art of Giving” during Christmas and some pictures of my new favourite Low back strapless set… I do love their black little boxes!
How do you spend your days? At work? At home? Do you put your feet up when you talk on the phone? Tell, tell, tell…
Big Love
Tatyana
