It’s Christmas in almost two weeks! Eeek!
Are you all sorted with your presents? I’m nearly there (I’m always last minute), but at least I’ve got my outfits sorted, eh? I’ve actually done quite a bit of shopping and have learnt that going into one big shopping centre at 9am is the answer, with a coffee…
I’ve already shown you a few Christmas party looks, which I hope you liked, but what about the Christmas Day itself? What to wear on Christmas Day, especially if we are the ones who are hosting the dinner? I’ve teamed up with my favourite Buchanan Galleries to show you how you can “sparkle” and still be comfortable in your ultimate Christmas Dinner party look in the comfort of your own home.
As much as I’m all about navy and black velvet this festive season, lets admit, there needs to be an exception for some sparkles on Christmas Day. While you won’t see me in sequins (they’re not so “baby-hug” friendly), I think metallic is a much edgier take on that festive glitter, plus this Warehouse skirt has an elastic band waist and we know how vital that is after all that food, right?
It’s always a good idea to balance out this look by wearing a slightly more casual top like this light-weight sweater also from Warehouse at Buchanan Galleries. You don’t want more metallics or sequins over the skirt, trust me! How cute are these little reindeers? Your ultimate minimalist Christmas jumper I think. You’ll still look “Christmasey” when you are sat at the table and you’ll have reindeers peeking under your apron too if you’re the one that’s cooking.
Complete the look with some hot lace-up heels (these are from River Island) and I always have a statement little clutch by my side with a lippy and my phone in it, buy mainly to include it in the pictures for Instagram. Can’t get enough of this disco ball (well, rectangle) by Coast.
What do you think, would you wear this look on Christmas Day?

PS! HUGE thanks to Hutchesons for letting me use their gorgeous premises for shooting this look during a very rainy day in Glasgow (surprise!). Their stunning stairs leading to the Brasserie and their pretty Christmas decorations couldn’t be a better backdrop for this project. Thank You! x
