Long bob – I’ve done it! Like with every drastic change of mine, it all began with a small seed that very quickly grew into an obsession… Hours of looking through the pictures of Sincerely Jules and Alexa Chung… aaah I wish!
Although I really enjoyed my longer hair, which was probably the longest it’s been in ages actually, there’s something about a fresh new shorter look that I always enjoy going for every once in a while. Yes, it seems like a big deal in the beginning, but it’s only hair and it will grow back, so if you’ve been thinking of a hair style change but just didn’t have the guts to go for it until now – do it! I know it’s scary for people who have always had long hair, but I’ve had so many different styles over the past 15 years, it’ doesn’t bother me. I’ve done it all – platinum blonde for 6 years, short bobs, rocking cute little pixie and even mod haircuts, you name it. But there are only a few people in the world that I’ll always go to for professional haircuts and Courtney from Twisted Sister is one of them. I got a great new haircut and a colour touch up on the base and the ends with a mix of dark and light using a traditional balayage technique without foil and paddle for a better and more natural blend. Last time I had my hair cut by Courtney was right before I started to grow it out, so it was great going back for a catch up, some delicious Chinese Tea and an update on all the exciting beauty treatments they’re currently doing – I’m so going back! Manicures, Spray Tan, Blow Dry’s, Shellac Nails, Glass of wine… can I move in please?
At the start of the New Year is when most people begin to take care of their health, eating habits, fitness or what have you, but for me it’s the condition of my hair that I really wanted to start focusing on this year. Of course, it’s only natural that my hair got a little drier since I decided to go blonder on the ends last year. You will remember I’ve visited the lovely BLOW salon a few times… But after getting a good few inches off the length this Tuesday at Twisted Sister salon – the condition’s feeling great. In fact, there are some amazing new products that I’m going to start using next week to further help with the condition whilst adding more volume, but I’ll tell you more about that later…
If you’re based in Glasgow, you must visit Twisted Sister Hair Salon and Nail Studio on High street. The 2 super talented sisters, founders and creative directors of the salon Courtney and Gaynor have around 25 years (kill me if I’m wrong girls) of specialist experience between them gained from some of the best professionals in the industry like Alan Edwards and many others… They’re so good they even offer their specialist training to other new stylists. But what I’m really excited about is their AMAZING NEW sculpting facial massages everyone’s talking about lately… I’ve never actually heard of anyone offering them in Glasgow, so I’m super excited to try them out and tell you all about it in the next couple of weeks. But for now, look out for my skin condition update with sk:n clinic treatments I’ve initially talked about in this post.
Have a great weekend!
Big Love!
