I have a love and hate relationship with people’s yearly reviews before the New Year on social media. Part of me loves seeing how everyone I’m connected with evolves and grows. I love reading about achievements and perhaps some lows they’ve overcome.
The other part of me is bored of seeing similar “resolutions” and captions at this time of year. We are Influenced right left and centre daily on social media. For some people the transition into the New Year is a really big deal and there’s nothing wrong with using a calendar to help change things up or set new goals. Not me personally as I like to take each day as it comes. With a few future plans with my family of course. Because at the end of the day (and it’s something this year has taught me), the only thing that really matters is my family. My kids, my relationship with my other half, parents… and our health. To be grateful every single moment of the day for those things.
It’s ok if things are shit sometimes. Our feelings are simply feedback to our thoughts and actions we are taking. If you’re feeling great most of the time – wonderful! Sad & confused? Your emotions / “true you” are trying to tell you that something needs attention & shifting in the direction of feeling better. Sometimes this means making difficult decisions involving other people or your long-terms habits. Just remember – it’s all to make you & others around you better.
This year has been nothing but wonderful, but do I need to improve anything? Of course! It’s a never-ending journey. Will I set goals to improve or achieve for next year? No. I’ll just do my best every day in all aspects of my life because that’s more than enough. So what I’m trying to say is don’t be too hard on yourself. Don’t feel like you have to set goals because everyone else is setting some. Don’t feel bad if you haven’t “achieved” much this year and don’t know what you want next year. Don’t listen to anyone but yourself, your heart and remember your feelings are your feedback. Listen to them emotions.
HUGE thank you to all of you for getting to the end of this post 🙈🤣 and for your endless support and friendship here on this little website of mine.
🤗 Hugs ❤️
