Happy Monday everyone!

Hope you all had a fab week and stayed dry? Weather hasn’t been so “blogger-friendly” I must say, but nonetheless it wouldn’t be blogging without it’s challenges. I got my hair done at the new sleek salon in Glasgow’s West End called number659 and the plan was to shoot my new hair (and my new Boden skirt) right after the appointment, but I got drenched running from the salon to the car… and there was no day light. Ha!

Anyway, what am I complaining about? I’m going to Florida this week!!!

So, if you’ve been readings my posts for the last year or so, you’ll know I have this fear of brassy orange hair… It’s not for me. I do like my hair dark, but I also think I suit a bit of texture and highlights through the ends – mainly because my hair is so straight I feel it needs a bit of contrast. My hair’s been through a lot lately, hence the reason for me going shorter and I really love this length right now, but it was the colour I needed fixed. Even though I decided to go all dark a few months ago (to avoid the brassiness), my hair still ended up looking washed out, dull and the previously “blonde” balayage still looked orange. It was time to see the lovely Stacie at number659.

“I’d like to go really blonde again” – I said. Whatever was going through my mind then, I’m just glad Stacie talked me out of it. Yes ombre and balayage is lovely, but we must remember it doesn’t always have to be a contrast of blonde and dark. There are so many different gorgeous tones that suit your complexion and it just so happens to be that shiny plum is a shade that suits me. My ends were pre-lightened using the balayage technique and then this gorgeous cool semi-permanent toner was applied through the ends. We deepened the base with a very dark brown, otherwise the plum would look really purple on my roots and we wanted a gradual, subtle effect. All my lipsticks are with a purple and pink, so this tone is ideal for me and when the tones washes off, I’ll be left with a cooler lighter shade – no orange yay!

So if you’re looking for somewhere new to get your hair and beauty treatments done in Glasgow, then head to number659. I can’t wait to go back to get my nails done, drinks some more of that delicious Deer Green coffee from next door and most importantly get that bespoke service we all deserve to experience in a salon. 5 out of 5 from me girls…
