Taking a break from denim, leather and stripes for a day to embrace what seems to be Spring with some cool neutral tones, silky soft fabrics and flowy designs. Keeping it even cooler with a touch of silver metallic and my maxi grey knit, which could easily be swapped for my trusted beige trench… Spring workwear perhaps?
I’ve had my eye on these Palazzo flowy trousers for a while now, but really wanted to try them on before I bought them… I just can’t be bothered buying things online and then returning them, then buying other sizes and returning them too… Who has time for that? Traditional shopping is still the best, but it’s even better with my mum in one of Glasgow’s best shopping centres on Mother’s Day.
You may remember me showing off about our Mother’s Day of shopping and pampering on Twitter and Instagram? Well, thanks to Buchanan Galleries, my lovely mum and I have had the most amazing day of shopping in some of our favourite stores, but what we really loved was catching up over a delicious afternoon tea with bubbly and macarons on the top floor of the centre after our individual BareMinerals makeovers… Sounds blissful doesn’t it? Ideal place catching up with people after work on weekdays…
We started off by checking out the amazing BareMinerals store on the ground floor and where we were offered to experience their professional individual makeovers. A really nice touch as my mum has never tried the brand before. Little did she know that after her makeover she would look 10 years younger, whereas I was so happy to have learnt some great tips on full coverage make-up techniques. We left with lots on new BM newbies and my mum even got a list of all the products that were used on her face, so she could go back for more later!
We then checked out a few of our favourite stores like Next, John Lewis, H&M, River Island and MANGO – my favourite and the only store in Glasgow, which is another reason why I love visiting Buchanan Galleries so much…
After a couple of hours of shopping, looking and feeling great (especially mu mum), we finished off our evening at the sleek open plan 360 Champagne and Cocktail Bar with a Bubbly Afternoon Tea served by the bar’s friendly staff who made us feel so welcome and relaxed as soon as we sat down… Sipping on refreshing cool Moet, eating huge tasty scones with clotted cream and strawberries (guilt-free), indulging on chocolate and lemon macarons whilst people watching and taking selfies – I can do this every week you know!
Oh and for those who drive everywhere, Buchanan Galleries’ own car park have the best car parking rates in Glasgow, which is another lovely surprise at the end of a perfect day!
Check out Buchanan Galleries’ website for more information and about the centre and it’s stores.
Big Love
