LFW PROOF MAKE-UP BY JAY MANUEL AT QVC

September 26, 2016

When I say London Fashion Week proof make-up I really mean LFW-proof make-up!

Heat, sweat, rain and for some maybe even some tears due to missed shows, bruised and cut feet all in-between getting soaked in the rain, 4 or 10 regular sauna “breaks” in the underground whilst running late yet to more shows. It really isn’t all that bad, trust me, but trying very hard not to break a sweat in a humid tube or shed a tear when someone’s sharpened elbow may have just poked you in that sensitive spot because you’ve only had about 3 hours sleep the night before. Eye-bags.

During Fashion Weeks (and other busy regular days) away from your dressing table, last thing you want is touching-up your make-up every 2 minutes and before every picture is taken. It’s hard enough making sure you’re hydrated and fed, that your skin looks rested without any breakouts, but having to worry about your face melting as the day goes by is the last thing we want to worry about. My travel size pixi glow tonic pads (also available at QVC) worked wonders for cleansing my skin while I was in London morning and night, but no pads will wipe away the tiredness and the inevitable “masking” is still required. I’m happy to share with you girls, that I have personally tried and tested (the hard way) the best long-lasting make-up with an added bonus of filter-finish technology. Rain, sweat, humidity, tears and laughter-line proof make-up that stayed in place all day and miraculously kept my face selfie and picture-ready. And NOW available to us UK girls as well, thanks to my friends at QVC who exclusively brought Jay Manuel make-up to Britain for us (and at amazing prices).

I received some samples a couple of weeks before LFW so I’ve had plenty of time to get used to it and see what works best for me during the day and night, but it’s not until my 4 day-long trip to London when my Jay Manuel goodies were put to the test. My favourites from the beginning were the Jay Manuel Skin Perfector Foundation and Jay Manuel Photo Illusion Concealer. The full coverage and the skin-matching tone of the foundation were ideal for covering up some of my acne scars and other imperfections whilst still leaving my skin feel super light. The concealer on the other hand was what really made me look and feel fresh throughout the day. It fills in all the little lines under the eye area as well as larger pores without any sort of “creasing” or cakey-finish. I had it with me in the bag at all times and never used it – it was that good.

The Jay Manuel Beauty Everything Mascara was another little bff perfect for travelling with as the adjustable wand helps achieve both fullness and length – two in one. Love the technology of everything, but I love the packaging of all the products too I must admit. Very minimal, sleek and well thought-out.

For an even more long-last finish I used Jay Manuel Beauty Skin Face Lift Illuminating Powder. I have both the platinum and gold, depending on what jewellery or clothes I’m wearing that day. They work amazing on giving my skin that sophisticated glamorous finish acting as a highlighter whilst giving me a soft-focus radiance with a natural glow. Yes, all of this is possible.

The picture above is from Day 2 of LFW and I’m my wearing all of the above Jay Manuel make-up with the platinum illuminating powder. This is at 4pm after several tube trips, some rain, sweat and yet still glowing! PS – more about my LFW looks this week.

I do absolutely love this range and can’t wait to get my hands on Jay Manuel brushes and bronzer – they get so many amazing reviews! I also LOVED watching all the video tutorials on QVC website by the star Jay Manuel himself – he’s amazing and so is his make-up! As always, QVC are offering some amazing introductory deals to everyone and even better deal when you purchase the 5-piece filter finish collection.

Let me know if you’ve tried it or are thinking about trying Jay Manuel make-up as I would love to know your thoughts.
