GLENFIDDICH BURNS NIGHT EXPERIMENT
Living in Scotland and not celebrating Burns Day / Night is kind of a sin if you ask me. I’m not saying you have to read poems all day, eat haggis and wear a kilt whilst drinking whisky (although some actually do that). It’s all about remembering Robert Burns and how much greatness his era had brought to Scotland and celebrate what’s relevant to you. And so we did. In style. Last Thursday with Glenfiddich Whisky at their unforgettable “Burns Bight Dinner Experiment” which was a modern take on all things Burns.
WHISKY COCKTAILS
I’ll be completely honest that I hadn’t tried that much whisky in my life to talk about the best and finest, but have always loved a good whisky sour. So I was super excited to see what Glenfiddich come up with on the night and they didn’t disappoint. Chantelle, Jess and I arrived to SWG3 (great venue choice by the way) and were welcomed with 3 different cocktails before our dinner at the bar. Not all at the same time – don’t worry. Created by Glenfiddich the Panda & Sons founder Iain McPherson and all three were delicious.
FOOD
We then headed into the “dinner room” for our experimental Glenfiddich evening. It was simply amazing if you can’t already tell by looking at the food photos. We enjoyed the mpst delicious and unique menu created by Ben Reade, Chef at the Edinburgh Food Studio. Each course was carefully complemented with the most perfect wine and whisky cocktails pairings and some of the ingredients on the menu were sourced on the land where Robert Burns was born. How special is that? All I can say is that I cannot wait until next year. Thank you Glenfiddich for such an unforgettable evening.
Huge thanks to Glenfiddich for sponsoring this post.
