I’ve been caught in the net. The fishnet.
As with many new trends it can take me a little while to fully understand them, interpret them and incorporate them into my own style. Some I love instantly, some just aren’t for me and other need to grow on me. The fishnet sock was a no brainer, but the fishnet tights I’m still unsure about. You all know I love socks and heels already, so this was the safest way for me to try and have fun with the net trend.
I’ve actually tried shopping for an actual pair of fishnet tights in Glasgow a couple of weeks ago, but to my surprise failed. Not one pair was to be seen on the hight street and not because they were sold out (or were they?) but looks like our high street didn’t quite catch up with this super fast Instagram craze for once. In Glasgow anyway… Or someone maybe bought them all off in bulk for themselves or to avoid seeing them on every girl on the street. Who knows I haven’t seen anyone wear them…
Relieved I never actually got a hold of the fishnet tights and delighted to have found a pair of socks instead in Topshop last week. Much safer don’t you think? A little peekaboo of the ankle from under the frayed denim adds a bit of fun, texture and maybe even bravery to the outfit / person, but would you wear fishnets to a business meeting or office?
PS! Not only have I been caught in the “net” trend, but the white mid-heel courts have seriously won me over this season. These leather wooden heel beauties from Next are so gorgeous I had to have them and are perfect for Summer. That reminds me – Hello March!
