I’m usually the last-minute kinda girl when it comes to Christmas shopping. Mainly because there are just so many family birthdays in October and November to go through first, but when Cath Kidston invited me to check out their brand new Edinburgh store on Princes Street last month- things got suddenly very festive in LAFOTKA land.
CATH KIDSTON TAXIS
Myself and a bunch of other lovely Scottish blogger girls got picked up in Cath Kidston printed taxis (see pic) at the Waverley Train Station and taken to the new store. How cute are these black cabs? There are 25 of those taxis in Edinburgh during December and if you see one – don’t walk by or ride in one without taking a picture. Post the photo on Instagram tagging @CathKidston_ltd and use the hashtag #99PrincesStreet to enter a very exciting giveaway to win a £500 Shopping Spree. If you win, don’t forget to invite me to shop with you (wink wink).
THE NEW EDINBURGH STORE
Now let’s talk about the new Cath Kidston store shall we? I mean, you can’t miss it as it’s right on the corner on Princes Street (number 99) and let’s be honest, those freshly painted gorgeous Red and Blue brand colours? Hard to walk by. After some pictures and boomerangs outside the new store (good bloggers), we each grabbed a basket and our Christmas shopping officially commenced. Of course, respectfully with a “one-for-you-one-for-me” ethos, otherwise where’s all the fun? Anyone else have the same problem when it comes to Christmas shopping? This laptop case (link) and mirror power pack (link) had to be mine – blogger essentials. Luckily there’s something for everyone at Cath Kidston – so many gifts to choose from for as little as £10 in their glitter Christmas collection (link). But their baby, homeware and women’s fashion collections are just amazing all year round. How cute are those pink shoes (link) and the grey knitted hat, mitts and slipper set I picked up for my baby niece?
THE PERFECT GIFT
A box of Charades, Family Organiser, Dominos, set of Tea Towels or a candle would make the perfect present for friends of family or perhaps a Secret Santa gift (links). Or how about a few thoughtful pieces from your favourite Cath Kidston collection for someone special? My favourite collection in the store was definitely The Velvet Edit (link) which features a classic Cath Kidston spot and the new Devonshire Rose floral . It instantly made me think of my mum as she loves beautiful rich floral prints and this deep bottle green was just perfect. The fact that I could also pick up a matching umbrella (you know, Scotland = rain?), as well as the pouch, spot velvet purse and some candles from the same range was a no brainer. Can’t wait to gift those to my mum and bring her with me to Edinburgh later so she can choose a few more bits from the range to add to her collection.
Although Sasha’s all grown up now and has her own Christmas wish-list (dreading it this year), I know she’ll love helping me wrap these gorgeous gifts for our family. Already though, she’d asked to keep the Family Organiser (link) and if she could be in charge of the Weekly Meal Planner – result! The cute set of Cath Kidston Guards pencils are the perfect stocking filler for school kids if you’re stuck for ideas. I’m keeping those hidden for now.
Pop by Cath Kidston Princes Street for your Christmas shopping if you’re near – brownie points guaranteed from the loved ones.
