This time last year Glasgow was all about Commonwealth Games if you remember? Sport and all the buzz in the city were great, but us fashion folk got also treated to our very own Commonwealth Fashion Show with a live orchestra all organised by SR:D. I’m going somewhere with this…
Scottish designers are great, just look at Christopher Kane? He wasn’t there unfortunately and although I’m a big fan, I discovered something else – ARSALAN. When Chris John Millington came out in this sleek structured minimalist outfit, I was like: “OK, who’s he wearing?” But then the female models walked on to the stage to the orchestra music wearing gorgeous white chiffon and hardly anything else, I was blown away. But when I found out that ARSALAN was only 17 then, I was blown away even more. How talented and what distinctive unique style? So happy to work with him on a couple of projects now.
I’m wearing these chiffon sweat pants with a simple oversized black shirt and birks (someone give me some other shoes!) on the most rainiest day in Glasgow EVER; hiding under the iconic Glasgow Uni cloisters (even though we were planning to go the beach), but don’t you think the location and the feel of the look were a match made in Scottish heaven? Totally wearing these sweatpants to the beach too, but for now, it’s what we’re blessed with in Glasgow and we’re blessed with a lot!
