Happy Monday y’all!
Hope everyone’s had a nice weekend? Up to anything exciting? I had a lovely night out on Saturday night for my friend’s birthday and call me crazy, but usually people stay in their bed and watch films all day after a night out – I spent my Sunday decluttering my flat.
Anyway, a few of you have asked me in the past about sharing some outfits I’d wear to a wedding as a guest, so I’ve partnered up with my favourite Buchanan Galleries Shopping centre to give you some tips and ideas. Read on…
Scenario:
You’ve been invited to a wedding in August / September… it’s not particularly Summer anymore… you’re really not a big fan of satin and florals, fancy hats and glitter… and if your thing is lace like mine – last thing you want is getting into trouble with the bride. But, there’s a few solutions for us “tricky” and not so girly girls… I really like the idea of wearing a 2-piece tailored suit to a wedding, yes, you heard me right! Picture this… Tailored structured culottes worn with a really fitted blazer over a cami silk vest, some cute jewellery and a little stand-out metallic clutch… Seeing it? Plus you’ll get to wear the suit again and again for various occasions as a 2-piece or separately. There are so many right now in Buchanan Galleries’ John Lewis store, H&M smart wear, but you can always mix and match.
Suit is a nice idea indeed, but I know they’re not for everyone. It can be very difficult to find the right one a day before the wedding, plus they can be a bit pricey as well, hence why I went for a classic jumpsuit with an elegant crossover detail, to give me that “evening look” feel. This WHISTLES jumpsuit is currently in SALE in Buchanan Galleries’ John Lewis and it’s not like it’s going to get out of fashion any time soon either – the design is so timeless.
There were some stunning jewellery pieces in PANDORA store in Buchanan Galleries, but I fell in love with this chunky knotted chain in River Island while I was trying on these black strappy court shoes. And then this “furry” caught the corner of my eye, so I had to grab it – it’s totally acceptable to wear a faux fur clutch to a wedding, trust me! One – it’s super cute (obviously) and two – you can use it as a cushion later on in the night! Wink… Oh and if you feel your outfit needed a little bit more sparkle, why not add this New Season MANGO sequin one-size jacket.
Have you been to any weddings this summer? Or going to any? What’s your take on ” wedding guest” looks? I always buy 2 outfits just in case one of them doesn’t fit and they’re usually totally different. This Ted Baker lace number was my 2nd choice. Just swap the bag with this mango clutch and ditch the sequin green jacket. What do you think?
Have a great week!
Big Love
