Last year I got the Max Mara bug. Yes, it’s a thing. I was invited to the new Max Mara store opening in Edinburgh on Multrees Walk, which made me completely fall in love with the brand even more. Those signature cuts, the softest cashmere and wool fabrics… and of course the cosiest of them all – the teddy coats. I’d buy one any minute, but there’s the £2K price tag, you know? On top of that and to make the matters worse (or actually better), the lovely Emma Hill bought a second hand Max Mara coat and has made my dream somewhat more achievable. I went straight on to eBay and Vestiarre Collective and I wasn’t going to relax until I found my very own Vintage Max Mara coat.. I settled for this little number at £140 and couldn’t be more happier. Ideally I would have loved for it to be a bit longer, but because this coat is in such great condition, I could always sell it again for pretty much the same price and buy another. The 80s shoulders and the colour are definitely my favourite and I’m not scared to wear it every day either. A shade lighter and it would have been hanging in the wardrobe the entire winter.
The Max Mara bug isn’t over though. I’m now on the hunt for a second-hand Max Mara teddy coat and I have a feeling that buying it in the Summer might be the answer. If you see one I’d love and suit – do send the listing my way! 😉
