Would you believe me if I said I used to hate avocado? Yep, right up until about 2 weeks ago…
I didn’t mind adding avocado into my smoothies as I couldn’t really taste it or more importantly feel the texture – as it’s what really used to almost make me boak (sorry)! It reminded me of soap for some reason…
But knowing that each serving of avocado offers around 20 different vitamins and minerals, and being the good girl that I am, I decided to give it another try before ruling it out of my diet on it’s own. I thought to myself – the prettier I make it look, the yummier it will taste! I didn’t want to add any other flavours to it apart from the seasoning as I knew my fear had to be faced genuinely… I took my first bight with my eyes closed ready for some sort of reaction, but 2 seconds later the entire plate was gone! I had avocado on top of Chilli Con Carne that same night, for breakfast with poached eggs the next day, I have a toast with avocado beside my laptop as I write this and we even made home-made guacamole for nachos with my girlie earlier. Avocado, you delicious son of a gun – welcome to my diet!
