STYLING MY OFFICE – PART TWO
Well, hello you lovely lot! Step into my office and take a seat on my soft Percy loveseat from Sofa.com. Cup of tea? Bisquits?
You might remember me initially share my new office space in this post, only it was filled with all things rattan in place of Percy. There’s something so exciting about finally getting the extra space you always wanted and filling it with statement pieces to complement the room, rather than always thinking practical and functional. A sofa-bed would have been very practical in this room don’t get me wrong, but I believe every girl deserves her very own statement armchair or loveseat in her favourite room / corner.
Percy is the first thing everyone notices as they walk into the room and it’s my favourite thing to look at as I work at my desk across the room. I chose “Dusty Rose” in velvet as it simply stood out for me on the website. Sometimes you just have to go with what screams at you and forget everything else. Lucky for me, Dusty Rose is actually way more practical than Powder Pink in our house and the colour goes so well against the grey walls in my office. Can you imagine if would have chosen grey? This room needed a colour boost and this loveseat does the job perfectly, without overpowering everything else.
When something so cute and soft is sitting pretty in your room, it’s only natural you’ll use it as a prop / backdrop for Instagram, right? I mean, almost everything I buy for the house is purchased with “how-good-would-it-look-on-photographs” mindset. Aren’t we all the same? No? Just me? This brings me to what I’m wearing in this post. I should have probably started this post off by saying that I definitely don’t wear outfits like that at home. Typing this post in my PJ’s fyi, but there’s a fun little true story between my all Karen Millen look and my Percy loveseat. Last year I was invited to the launch of the brand new Karen Millen flagship store in Glasgow, located in Princess Square. The store and clothes were absolutely gorgeous of course, but there was one little piece of furniture that really stood out for me – a powder pink loveseat in the shoe corner. I still don’t know whether it’s made by Sofa.com or not, but it was then when my obsession for my very own pink chair has started. True story. I visited the Glasgow Karen Millen store again a couple of weeks ago to celebrate their Autumn Eight collection, picked up this outfit and so it was only natural I wore it in this post, sat on my very own loveseat.
