Last week we had the pleasure of visiting the newly refurbished 4 star Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club with my troops. Leon’s first staycation and it was fabulous. Sasha already loves this part of my job and was even more delighted about having her own separate room in our gorgeous family suite.
A mere 7 miles away from Edinburgh city centre with a stunning location overs a 1000 acres of parkland. The golf course and the views pack so much Scottish heritage in to Dalmahoy. Such a treat to celebrate all things Scottish for tourists and locals alike. We loved the way Dalmahoy reminded us why we love living in Scotland.

The hotel Itself has currently undergone an exciting refurbishment with no disruption to the visitors. Our suite in particular was recently revamped and I must admit it looked stunning. Decorated and Overseen by Glasgow-based interior designer, Liz McNeill of 10 Design, which specialises in interiors with leading hotel brands across the UK, the new-look rooms are decorated in a country house style sympathetic to the property’s history which dates back to 1725. A colour palette of grey mixed with bolds, and layered with checks, paisley print and Scottish artwork will provide the perfect foil to modern pieces that add a contemporary, timeless touch to the rooms. Loved the artwork and mustard velvet seating in particular.

We were welcomed with fresh popcorn at the reception (great for kids!) and some wine and truffles in our suite. But it’s the evergreen views looking over the gold course and cloud-like comfy hypno beds that won us over. There are hotels that make you want to keep exploring the surroundings and only use the room for sleep, and there are other hotels, ,making you want to stay in your room all day. Well, this was both, though we would have been quite happy to just stay in our gorgeous suite with room service if Pentland Restaurant wasn’t so delightful for dinner and breakfast. Again, stunning views outside and gorgeous historical interiors with plenty of character and food to die for.

I’ve had so much interest about the Hotel on my IG stories during our stay and I know many of you would like to visit Dalmahoy too. Soooo…. we have a little surprise for you!
