You know that moment when you discover the most peaceful and quite beach with not a soul in sight? It’s priceless. But then you discover that the waitress from a bar located about a half a mile away comes to take your order every hour… Bliss.
On a separate note, I feel like I have some explaining to do…
A couple of you have asked me on Instagram during our holiday about Sasha and why she wasn’t there. It’s such a norm for us I forget that a lot of you guys don’t know me that well, especially my new readers, so here goes. Sasha is one of those lucky kids who has a huge family who love her unconditionally from both sides. Her father and I haven’t been together for over 8 years but are good friends. Sasha knows no different and it really helps that we all get on so well. I mean it’s not 1960s anymore, so I don’t imagine you guys being surprised? We also LOVE Sasha’s new baby sister like she’s part of our family and I’m just extremely happy Sasha’s surrounded by so many amazing people who love her.
My partner and Sasha’s step-dad (although I hate calling him that) has been in her life since she was four. The connection and understanding they have between them is a rare and beautiful one. It fills my heart with joy, pride and gratitude to watch them grow naturally just like the most perfect father and daughter. He never calls her his “step-daughter” when we meet new people leaving them to “work out” for themselves why they look so different. Sasha’s blonde with blue eyes and Luis is South American. Ha, work that out!
So, why wasn’t she with us in Greece? Well, her dad and his family took Sasha to Italy for 2 weeks, so Luis and I decided to take a rare 1 week break for ourselves too. Pure relaxation on the beach with our books, late dinners and evening walks were just what the doctor ordered. Won’t lie though, both of us missed Sasha terribly when we got back. Our home was way too quiet without her.
So there you have it!
