And just like that – we have a ONE year old.
So many emotions and almost physical feelings and memories about this time last year. Leon was born on the 30th November last year and was in the hospital NICU right up until Christmas. We were discharged 2 days before Christmas and it was certainly a happy one in our house. But until then we were probably passing through the hardest time of our lives as a new family of four. Leon was under special care 24/7, Sasha was being taken care of by her dad and my parents – I missed her. I was needed at the hospital for many hours as I was expressing and hoping to encourage breastfeeding. Not only was I recove4ring from a major surgery and an early pregnancy shock, I was constantly worried for my new baby, my milk supply and everything else. But you know what? This was last year…
This year has been nothing but wonderful. We have a healthy 1 year old that got discharged from the hospital (he was meant to be monitored until he was two). And he’s thriving and thriving. And so are we. We love our new family of four.
Currently under the weather stuck inside, because “tis the season” of colds and rain. We’ve played all the toys in the flat and so it was only natural that mum brought out the big camera for some cute shots under our Christmas tree.
I now have a one year and a 14-year old. Pinch me.
