So what does one wear to the beach?
I guess it’s different if you have to walk through the centre of the city or use public transport to get to your closest beach, but if you have a car, like we did and the heat is so so unbearable that the only thing that feels like clothes is a bikini – then you should wear nothing but! Don’t get me wrong – I loved wearing my dresses and cami tops on the way to the beach too, but when your purpose for the day is beach only, I’d say keep to a minimum and as less figure hugging as possible! Who wants all the sand rubbing against your possibly slightly burnt precious skin?
The vintage Levi’s cut off mini skirt has one purpose – it makes me look acceptable-ish in public on the way to the car. But if it wasn’t for the spontaneity of my other half (he likes to pop into cafes or take a drive to another city after the beach) – I’d just wear that kimono over my Triangl bikini all day long! It’s like waking up in the morning and putting on my favourite silky summer dressing gown and summer means pyjamas are kept to a minimum. The more the skin can “breathe” the better, as we cover our bodies up far too much with clothing and most of the time with fabrics that don’t even agree with our skin – so get naked, now! 🙂
Jokes aside, but what do you wear to the beach? Kaftans? Kimonos? Slouchy dresses? x
PS! Excuse my tote and sliders being covered in sand! 😉
