NEW HOME, NEW BED, NEW MATTRESS
New home, new bed, new start and a new mattress thanks to Leesa. Would you believe that we’re tried dozens of mattresses over the years and each one gave us a sore back? Both of us. It’s really not that nice waking up in the morning stiff and achy and we’re not even that old yet (well…). I wonder if this added to my past issue of not being a “morning person” I talked about in this post? It probably did – who wants to get out of bed happy when you’re so exhausted from an awful night’s sleep? There was this one particular mattress we once had that needed “regulation” from us during the night. Yeah, that huge lump generated by the memory foam in the middle that needed flattened out by one of us from time to time through-out the night. It was like sleeping with a barrier / third person in-between us and the “lump-flattening” night shifts were not fun, let me tell you. Caught myself a many times rolling back down to my caved hole whilst grabbing on to the other half in hope of achieving something close to an 180 degree surface for just a little longer. You could call those nights very active. That active we would walk about our business half asleep most days.
THE FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Each time we bought a new mattress (with great reviews by the way) we silently (and loudly) prayed it was the one for us. I seriously had no idea how important it was to have a good mattress until all this pain and suffering. Yes, it is that dramatic! Was I sceptical about Leesa’s mattresses? Of course I was, but I was also very hopeful that perhaps we’ve finally found our match. The mattress comes in a vacuumed box and although ours us Super King size, it wasn’t that heavy and difficult to unpack straight on to the bed. We gave it a couple of hours to take it’s perfect shape and I left the window in the bedroom open as well to rid of some of the factory packaging smells. And then of course – that first test. The star-shaped drop on your back that pretty much seals the deal. We all had a go, but of course it’s not until a few sleeps you truly know if the mattress is a good match for you. This is one of the reasons I wanted to work with Leesa as they suggested I tried our new Leesa mattress for a month before making up my mind about the product and blogging about it. Happy to announce our Lessa is a keeper.
MORE ABOUT LEESA AND WHY WE LOVE IT
When a company’s main goal is to help people get a better night’s sleep – I’m all ears. Leesa is also a company that has giving back engrained into it’s DNA. They donate one mattress to charities supporting the homeless, as well as those seeking refuge from domestic abuse and human trafficking, for every ten sold. To date Leesa has been able to donate over 30,000 mattresses to charities worldwide including 30 charities in the UK. I think that’s amazing!
Leesa is a luxury mattress with 3 foam layers supporting our bodies, whilst the top layer also has cooling effects. My other half’s favourite feature as he hates “toasting” in bed. My favourite thing about the mattress is that it never loses it’s original shape. There’s no “lump” in the middle between us (hooray) and the top layer is very soft under the sheet – a lovely cosy feeling all night long.
We obviously do have a cosy super king size duvet and pillow set, but I wanted to show you how comfortable the mattress looks and it’s pretty stylish too. It goes so well with the decor of our room – grey walls, grey simple divan bed, grey carpet and a few yellow accents to bring the room to life a little bit. There’s literally nothing in our bedroom to distract us from our sleep. No extra unnecessary furniture or clutter. We face the window as we wake up – a lovely way to start the day by opening the window shutters without aches and pains.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
I love my Leesa mattress and so does my other half. Years of bad mattresses and sore backs and we’re finally able to have a good night’s sleep. Every night. There’s no surprises, springs or lumps and I don’t know how long Leesa mattresses last, but we both know where we’ll be shopping for our next one. I’ve already recommended Leesa to two people who mentioned they had the same issues with their old mattresses and I’m recommending it here to you after trialling it for over a month. My daughter sleeps our bed when Luis is away and she too swears by it. Not that kids need help in better sleep, but anyway…
So, here’s what Leesa are treating you to. You can get £100 OFF any Leesa mattresses when you use my code LAFOTKA. You can try the mattress for 100 days before you make up your mind and I think that’s pretty cool if you’re in need of a better sleep.
Here’s to a better sleep!
Huge thanks to Leesa for sponsoring this post.
