TODAY’S LESSON
A lesson is learnt every day. Yesterday’s lesson was more of a reminder, but very invaluable nonetheless. I’ll keep this short and sweet and hope this helps you take some things less to heart going forward.
“No matter how hard you want for someone to see your point of view, or to feel and experience the way you do – it simply won’t happen.”
Whether it’s a close family member or someone online who you thought shares the same “values” or tastes, don’t sweat it. We all grew up in different environments and have therefore learnt to interpret things based on the beliefs we acquired over time. We will always interpret things “filtered” through our beliefs and understandings and that’s simply the way it is. Some folk are a bit more flexible, whilst others will try and make you see life through their lens. My advice is to simply keep in mind that they’re talking from their experience and it has nothing to do with you. An even better advice? Listen to your gut. Always.
PS! How amazing is this leopard print faux fur coat? Decided to wear it with a classic breton long sleeve tee, black jeans and accessorised with a beret for that “Parisian-bump” look. 22 weeks this week and feeling great. How are you all doing? x
